Chain Saw Artist Rick Kruse, of Ridott, carves a wooden bear holding a red cross for the American Red Cross Northwest Illinois Chapter on Saturday, August 15, 2009. The Red Cross hosted its first ever vendor fair in its parking lot and combined the fundraiser with a blood drive, a silent auction, a drive for volunteers and a barbecue. In the background of the picture, the Red Cross bloodmobile drives away after drawing blood from those who stopped by.

We had quite a snow on Christmas Eve, 2008. Here's how it looked looking up Winborne (east) from my front porch in the first picture. That's Wesley's Hummer, and my Ford, he arrived at about 4 a.m. after driving through all that snow to get home from Alabama. Below is my back yard. Thankfully, winter is over now.
